HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
MEMBERSHIP
Members of the Council shall be appointed by the Governor. The Governor shall
select members after soliciting recommendations from the council and
representatives of organizations representing a broad range of individuals with
disabilities and organizations interested in individuals with disabilities.
There is no limit on the number of ICOIL members. Of the members, at least
fifty-one (51%) are individuals with disabilities who are not employed by any
state agency or Center for Independent Living. Other members may include parents
and/or guardians with disabilities; advocates; people representing providers of
services including CILs; representatives from private businesses & community
organizations; and representatives from state agencies.
The ICOIL information sheet & initial application form are available from FSSA,
all VR field offices, the FSSA website, the ICOIL website and Centers for

If YES: You may be eligible for this research study!
Purpose: to identify people with disabilities who are employed and find those factors that contribute to their successful work careers.
To participate, you must:
- Have a physical disability
- Be employed for at least 2 years
- Work at least 20 hours per week
- Be 18 years of age or older
